Carburetor Rebuilding

Carburetors can be very frustrating. We have rebuilt hundreds, if not thousands of carburetors. One of the most important aspects of rebuilding a carburetor is the cleaning process. After a carburetor is disassembled, it is absolutely essential that the body of the carburetor be thoroughly cleaned. This may involve bead blasting, soaking in carburetor cleaner, ultra-sonic cleaning, and electrolysis. Many carburetors have passages hidden by balls or plugs that have been pressed into the body of the carburetor. These passages are often impossible to clean out unless the balls or plugs are removed. Once removed, the passages can be cleaned out with appropriately sized drill bits (turned by hand). Whenever possible, we test rebuilt carburetors on tractors before we send them back to the customer.
